This Privacy Policy describes how personal data is processed in connection with the JVA Turva mobile application and the related service.
JVA Turva is an occupational safety application intended for organizational use by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy. The application includes occupational safety instructions, occupational safety forms to be completed by users, and an SOS alert function.
The application is not available for public registration. Users cannot register for the service or create their own user accounts.

Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy determines the purposes for which personal data is processed in the JVA Turva service.
The technical implementation and maintenance of the JVA Turva service are provided by:
Aware Applications Oy
Aware Applications Oy acts as a data processor for the JVA Turva service and processes personal data on behalf of and according to the instructions of Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Aware Applications Oy maintains the JVA Turva system and the user, form and SOS alert data stored in the system.

The JVA Turva service may process the following personal data:
name
email address
information related to the user account and authentication
occupational safety forms completed by the user and the answers provided in those forms
identification information of the user who completed a form
GPS location of the device in connection with an SOS alert
time of an SOS alert and other information related to the alert event.
Occupational safety forms completed by users are stored in the JVA Turva system. The information stored with a form includes the identity of the user who completed the form and the answers provided by the user.
Information entered by a user in a form may also contain other information voluntarily provided by the user.
SOS alerts are stored in the JVA Turva system. A stored SOS alert event includes information identifying the user who initiated the alert, the timestamp of the alert, and the GPS location obtained in connection with the alert.
JVA Turva is intended only for users designated by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Users cannot create their own user accounts in the application.
User accounts may be created and deleted by Aware Applications Oy and by persons authorized for this purpose by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Users sign in to the application using their email address and password. SMS verification is also used as part of the authentication process to verify the user’s identity and access rights.
Personal data is processed for the provision of the JVA Turva service and for the occupational safety activities of Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Personal data is processed in particular for the following purposes:
identifying users and managing access rights
enabling users to sign in to the service
completing, storing and processing occupational safety forms
associating completed forms and responses with the user who submitted them
monitoring and documenting occupational safety-related information
receiving, transmitting and processing SOS alerts
identifying the user who initiated an SOS alert
determining the user’s location in connection with an SOS alert
storing and documenting SOS alert events
sending service-related push notifications
maintaining the service and ensuring its technical operation.
Personal data is not used for advertising or direct marketing.
JVA Turva includes occupational safety-related forms that users can complete in the application.
Completed forms are stored in the JVA Turva system. The information stored with each form includes the identity of the user who completed the form and the answers provided by the user.
The information contained in the forms is used for the implementation, monitoring and documentation of occupational safety activities by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Persons authorized by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy may have access, according to their assigned access rights, to stored forms and the information contained in them.
Users should avoid entering unnecessary personal data in free-text fields.
JVA Turva uses the device’s location data only when the user initiates an SOS alert.
The purpose of processing location data is to enable the user who initiated the alert to be located and to facilitate the provision of necessary assistance.
The GPS location obtained in connection with an SOS alert is stored in the JVA Turva system as part of the relevant SOS alert event. The alert event also contains information identifying the user who initiated the alert and the timestamp of the alert.
The application does not continuously track the user’s location and does not collect location data outside SOS alert events. The application does not create a continuous history of the user’s movements or locations.
When an SOS alert is initiated, the information necessary for handling the alert is transmitted to Securitas Oy, which is responsible for handling SOS alerts generated through the JVA Turva service.
The information transmitted may include information necessary to identify the user, information concerning the SOS alert, the time of the alert, and the GPS location obtained in connection with the alert.
Persons authorized by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy may have access, according to their assigned access rights, to user information, completed occupational safety forms, form responses and SOS alert information.
Aware Applications Oy processes personal data stored in the service on behalf of Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy to the extent necessary for the technical implementation and maintenance of the service.
Personal data is not sold to third parties or disclosed for advertising or direct marketing purposes.
JVA Turva may send users push notifications related to the operation of the service.
Push notifications are used only for communications related to the JVA Turva service and its occupational safety functions. They are not used for advertising or direct marketing.
Personal data related to a user account is retained for as long as the user has access to the JVA Turva service or for as long as retention is otherwise necessary for the purposes of the service, occupational safety documentation, or applicable legal or contractual obligations.
Occupational safety forms completed by users, together with the associated user information and responses, are stored in the JVA Turva system.
SOS alert events are stored in the JVA Turva system. Stored alert events include information identifying the user who initiated the alert, the timestamp of the event, and the GPS location obtained in connection with the alert.
Data is retained only for as long as necessary for its intended purpose, occupational safety documentation, contractual obligations or applicable legal obligations.
Users may request the deletion of their personal data and user account related to the JVA Turva service.
A deletion request may be submitted to the technical administrator of the JVA Turva service by email at:
The request should include the email address associated with the user’s JVA Turva account so that the user and the account to be deleted can be identified.
The identity of the person submitting the request may be verified before deletion where necessary to prevent misuse. Deletion requests are processed in cooperation with the data controller, Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
A user account may also be deleted by a person authorized for this purpose by Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy.
Deletion of a user account does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of all historical event and form data associated with the user. Information relating to previous SOS alerts and completed occupational safety forms may be retained where retention is necessary for occupational safety documentation, contractual obligations, legal claims or applicable legal obligations.
If information has been transmitted to Securitas Oy in connection with the handling of an SOS alert, such information may be processed and retained by Securitas Oy in accordance with its applicable obligations.
Jyväskylän Vuokra-asunnot Oy and Aware Applications Oy apply appropriate technical and organizational security measures, according to their respective roles, to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Access to personal data is restricted to persons who need access based on their duties or for the technical maintenance of the service.
Data transmitted between the application and the service is protected using appropriate technical security measures.
Personal data in the JVA Turva service is stored and processed within the European Union or the European Economic Area.
If a service provider used in the technical implementation of the service processes personal data outside the EU or EEA, appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection legislation will be applied to such transfers.
Under applicable data protection legislation, data subjects may have the right to:
obtain information about the processing of their personal data
request access to their personal data
request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
request deletion of their personal data, subject to applicable legal limitations
request restriction of processing where applicable
object to the processing of their personal data where applicable.
